Choosing A School Sessions

Choosing the right school or college can feel overwhelming, particularly when you are unsure where to begin.

Our 90-minute sessions will help parent/carers understand the phase-transfer process for children and young people with an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan. We’ll discuss how to consider which educational setting could best meet your child’s needs.

Who are the sessions for?

The sessions are for parent/carers whose child has an EHC Plan and is:

starting school
moving from infants to juniors
moving from Year 6 to Year 7
moving from Year 11 into post-16 education

What will the sessions cover?

Schools or colleges you have the right to request
Choosing the right educational setting
Exploring what different schools and colleges offer
Matching a setting’s offer to your child’s needs
