Carers Rights Day Wirral

This year, Carers Rights Day is on Thursday 21 November 2024 – and this year’s theme is recognising your rights.

Every day, 12,000 people become unpaid carers for a partner, family member or a friend – many of whom don’t see themselves as carers, often unaware of their legal rights and what they’re entitled to in terms of support and benefits. This year’s theme is ‘recognising your rights’ – and our aim is to help carers recognise and understand their rights, and to access the support available to them, whenever they need it.

As a carer, knowing your rights empowers you with information about what you’re entitled to. This helps you feel confident asking for what you need, as well as challenging things when your rights are not being met – whether that be in the workplace or education, in accessing health or social care, or when interacting with other professionals or at home.

What’s on this Carers Rights Day…

Carers Rights Information Stand – Thursday 21 November 2024

Location: The Pyramids Shopping Centre, 150 Borough Rd, Grange Precinct, Birkenhead CH41 2RA

Time: 10am-3pm

About: Join us this Carers Rights Day where we will have an information and advice stand next to the food court. We will be offering free information, advice and support regarding carers rights and all things carer related.

WUTH Drop-In – Thursday 21 November 2024

Location: Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (WUTH), Arrowe Park Hospital, Arrowe Park Rd, Arrowe Park, Wirral CH49 5PE

Time: 10am-3pm

About: We will be located opposite the Reception desk in the front entrance of WUTH this Carers Rights Day, offering free information, advice and support regarding carers rights and all things carer related.

Marine Place Carers Group Drop In – Thursday 21 November 2024

Location: Marine Lake Health & Wellbeing Centre, Orrysdale Road, West Kirby, Wirral, CH48 5AA

Time: 10am-12pm

About: We will be located in the AGE UK Cafe in Marine Lake Medical Centre. Come and join us for a hot drink and a chat whilst we will be offering free information, advice and support regarding carers rights and all things carer related.
